We have rewritten this bio 3 times in the last 13 months, its not our intention to keep changing it but we are grateful that we continue to keep adding to it.
We roasted our first batch of coffee in 2016, over a cast iron pan... it wasn't good.
We were lovers of coffee then and we are lovers of coffee now. The major difference now is that we have a storefront, a subscription business, and the great fortune of roasting coffee for everyone to drink.

In November 2016 we bought a tiny 1LB roaster (Behmor) and it changed everything for us. We began roasting batch after batch... after batch. Some good stuff, some not so good stuff. In January 2017 I sent an email to my colleagues, asking them to donate $10 to a youth-led organization very dear to our heart; "United We Dream".  We would provide them a half pound bag of coffee in exchange for their donation. We weren't sure exactly how many people would respond to it, we had 48 orders in, which was 24lbs of coffee, a lot more than we ever expect it. Keep in mind that at the time, each order of coffee took us an average of 20 minute to fulfill from start to finish.

Within a week we had more orders, at one point we had a request to provide coffee for the Portland Airbnb office, 100lbs a week for 10 weeks! Having that kind of order gave us the opportunity to improve and grow, daily Every other day we would roast 30lbs of coffee and every other day our confidence as roasters grew, most roasters starting off do not have the opportunity to roast that much coffee until much further down the line.

Fast forward to the Spring of 2017, we finished our big order with Airbnb and still the orders for coffee continued. We thought about doing the logical things; pop-ups, farmer's markets, subscription only service, local delivery... at the end w
e decided to open a small shop that would give us the opportunity to sell our coffee and share our love for the craft.

By July 1st, we opened KIOSKO, a small riverfront cafe that has quickly become a local favorite within the coffee community. KIOSKO encompasses our love for coffee, community, and our Latin heritage.

As of March, 2018 we roast coffee for 6 wholesale accounts, we maintained our online subscription business, our small 14x14 shop, and have had the opportunity to travel to the city of Colima, Mexico to visit many of the farms where our coffee is imported from. We continue a steady and very strategic growth by design. We are in the process of opening our second shop while expanding our operations in Mexico.
We are the only Mexican- American roaster committed to importing coffee from Mexico year round. We truly enjoy roasting and drinking bright & juicy coffee regardless of origin. We love crafting well balanced blends that highlight the best from each region.
